Bali is a great place for a honeymoon but it is an awful long way to travel (from USA) if you are only staying 5-6 days.
The beaches in Bali are nice but not as spectacular as some places which would be a lot closer to home for you eg Tahiti, Caribbean.
Nusa Dua is a nice area for honeymooners.
Holidaying in Bali is very cheap for Americans as the exchange rate is quite favourable.
Like I said though 5-6 days probably isn't long enough.

PS: September is a good time of year to visit.
