We stayed in October,2000 and found it to be relaxing. My partner had caught a cold and insisted we leave the Lovina area and find a place nearer to civilization. The Legian turned out to be one of the nicest places we stayed at during our three weeks on the island. It has a nice restuarant (albiet expensive) two swimming pools, and the rooms are very clean. It sits right across the street from the beach and just one (long) block from Jayan Legian (the main street between Legian and Kuta.
Another option would be the Sagara Beach Resort in Sanur. It cost about the same, but a wonderful buffet breakfast was included in the price.
