G'day Filo
I know I should have posted this earlier but I have been waiting for a happy ending.
Billy's first encounter with kites in Bali was an aggressive kite seller with a large Eagle Kite on the beach outside Melasti Beach Resort. This bloke gave the little fella a bit of a fright and he didn't want to fly one straight away. We thought it would be a temporary thig but he was not keen for the rest of the trip. I must point out though that he did spot every kite in the air for the next 3 weeks, just didn't want to get close to one. When we got home he was still not keen and we haven't pushed the point.
I can now report that we have made and flown some great Paper Planes and kites shouldn't be too far away (I hope).
The markets near our home have a Bali shop with some less aggressive looking kites and sales people, so Dad will make a purchase next week and hang it in the shed. I think the key then will be to tell him to leave it alone and he'll use it for sure.
Here's hopin' for another Bali Kite convert.
