the problems are caused by an industrial dispute - therefore hard to predict how long before it is resolved. Kartika Plaza was closed for several months as a result of their industrial problems and only recently reopened.
It is possible that the situation could worsen - ie the hotel could close down - or the situation may be resolved. There are (peaceful) groups of people (sometimes large, sometimes small) outside the main gate of the hotel almost all the time. There are security guards and police stationed there as well.
As I said, I personally would stay somewhere else.
