I have surfed at legian off and on for 15 years.
The beach is not as pristine in Bali as some of the Pacific Islands but the surf is great.
You do get plastic bags in the water - the Balianese have not quite caught on to the litter situation and
The water is naturally not clear -its kind of murky
But I have not found a better family holiday destination if some members of the group surf and the water is warm and the surf is consistantly good.
The best beach break over the years has been in the front of the Padma in Legian.
Dont be put off by Sadly - obviously he/she does not surf!!
