The Jayakarta family suites are Ok - enough bedroom space for sleeping, two bathrooms, one with shower (kids) other with bath over shower (ensuite off master). They had a balcony nad large living/dining/kitchenette area that had heaps of sapce. 2 tv's - lounge and master bedroom.
We took our two boys aged 10 and nearly 8 three years ago. The grounds are really large, but excellent pools for them to go safely to, beach out the back (patrolled to keep hawkerss out) gate. Tennis court for (cheap) hire, our boys used their tired surfboards and had a go etc...
We ate out all the time as in house stuff is in $US and therefore really expensive.
We found the shopping round Legian cheaper than in Kuta also.
You are close enough to go to Kuta etc from there....
