My wife and I are going to Bali in a couple weeks, and have no idea which part of the island to stay in. We plan to explore all over the island with a guide that a friend has used before, but am not sure where to make "home base". We live on the beach in Thailand, so probably won't spend too much time on the beach....but want a nice, quiet, beautiful place to hang out while not travelling, and still be able to get to the nightlife when we feel like getting out for the night, without being in the middle of it all the time.
Any suggestions?
