the idea was never to destroy the family unit, it was originally votes for women, a voice in parliament, rights to property & not to be a chatel themselves. The movement achieved all this & more, I think you are confusing them with the left wing womens liberation movement which has destroyed the role of the male & female. I am not critisising the liberation movement Ms Greer is my heroine, along with my grandmother who was an active suffragette.
