I just returned and I sensed absolutely NO hostility anywhere. Everyone seemed as friendly and laid back as the last time I visited. I think the above writers are paranoid. Or pulling your leg.
Bali is separated from the rest of Indonesia by more than geography. The attitude of the people is totally different...and much more peaceful. Have no fear!
