Sorry for the snow. Must be awful. We have the occasional shower here but it's not too bad yet. And I don't really mind: right now it's pouring down quite heavily, but the sun is shining, too. Looks like a painting from my study: the many different shades of green in the sunlight, and the curtain of rain gradually increasing with distance.
Re "padang restaurants": we mention them in our "Introduction to Food + Restaurants" already 2 times. We recommend them for late-night snacks as some are open around the clock, and we explain how the food is served and charged. We do not recommend any specific places as I feel they are all serving very similar food. And VERY disappointing if you had a chance to enjoy for some time Padang home cooking which can be truly delicious!
Have a good year, with many visits to Bali.
