We found the Patra Jasa hotel good, especially if you have kids up to the age of 12-14. The hotel is right next to the airport and you can see and on occasions hear the planes take off.

The only down side is that you are a good drive away from the action of Legion and Kuta. I dont know if you have been to Bali before however there is one long stretch of raod from the suburb of Legion to Kuta. Down this road or on several streets comming of this road is where all the usual action is, i.e shops, bars, department stores Timezone, Mcdonalds there is literally hundreds of places to see in just the space of say 2klms.

We last travelled to Bali in 1992 when we stayed at the Bali Padma in Legion only the 2 of us (my wife and I) we really liked that hotel for just the two of us but decided to stay at the Patra Jasa this time as we took our two kids with us (aged 13+15).Both hotels are good it just depends on what you want and who you want it for.

Ialso beleive there are some other nice hotels in Legion and in the next suburb noth called Seminyak or something like that.

The hotel meals are good however at least up to twice what you can get on the streets from some of the good restaurants.

Breakfat usually what the call American Breakfast cost no more that RUP13500 which included Fresh fruit juice 2 eggs any style bacon or ham toast with tea or coffee. We usually had this with the kids at a restaurant called the Puri Dayu which is just on the road to the Bali Padma Hotel. In fact all the meals there are of good quality.

A three course meal for the 4 of uss usually cost no more that Rup100000 plus drinks.
We worked on an exchange rate of AUD$1 = RUP4500.

Hope this has been of some help and if you need anything further just e-mail me.

Regards Mike
