I was to both but it was in1989. Bali was less than 1/2 the cost then
if budget is a factor. Bali was much more green and lush in
late Jan. If I had to rate, I'd give Bali 9 Phuket5 Koh Samui 6. We paid about $25.00cdn/night in Phuket and $8.00cdn/night in Bali . Food was better in Bali, Twice as much for 3/4 the price. I will be returning there in Jan to both places.
