I dont think I would take the risk with merpati. My travel agent recently advised me to book with another carrier as they were in a very unstable state and her travel agency wasnt dealing with them any more. They are cheaper by about $ 150.00 compared with garuda but if your looking for a budget airline I would choose garuda over merpati and of course qantas is great at all times but its that bit more expensive.
