I am from Canada and am going to Bali in March. I have been reading a lot on the forum about money changers cheating people, and this worries me. If I were to get a good exchange rate for Indonesian Rupiahs in Canada, and were to buy and take say 1 or 2 million Rupiahs in cash from here, would there be any problems?
Also, is there much difference in rate between a bank, hotel and money changers?
I understand that money changers prefer cash in newer large bills. What about banks and hotels? Do banks/hotels give better rates for cash or travellers cheques?
