I am looking forward to a holiday to Bali in the middle of February 99. To travel from Melbourne I'm currently looking at flying with Merpati Airlines. I usually fly with QANTAS, due to their excellent safety standards / history. Has anyone flown with Merpati before and could you tell me if the service was a good standard flying economy? Do they provide in-flight entertainment ? During my stay I wish to travel to Lombok island, it is cheaper to fly with Merpati from Melbourne to Bali and Lombok, than to fly from Melb to Bali with QANTAS and then Bali to Lombok with Merpati. Would you reccommend Merpati Airlines or are the financial savings made not worth the risks involved ?
